Background

Eight years in manufacturing. Now applying that thinking to digital.

With eight years of manufacturing experience, the principles that shape how Digital Horizon operates — reducing waste, tightening processes and delivering consistent results — come from working in environments where those things genuinely matter.

That experience has a direct influence on how I approach digital work. Manufacturing disciplines like lean thinking — removing steps that add cost without adding value, building reliable processes and measuring outcomes rather than activity — translate well into websites, automation and digital systems.

It also means I understand the businesses I work with. Trades, service companies, growing SMEs — these are operational businesses with real constraints. The digital work needs to fit around them, not the other way around.

How it works

A lean operation. No unnecessary layers.

Digital Horizon is deliberately small. There are no account managers, no project handoffs and no junior staff assigned to your work once a contract is signed.

You deal directly with me throughout. That keeps communication clear, decisions fast and the work consistent. It also keeps costs lower than a traditional agency — overhead that does not add value to your project does not get passed on to you.

The approach is the same one I applied in manufacturing: identify what is actually needed, remove what is not, and build something that works reliably over time.

Direct communication You speak to the person doing the work. No account managers, no handoffs between teams.
Faster decisions No internal approval chains. Questions get answered and changes get made quickly.
No wasted spend Lean structure means lower overheads. The budget goes into the work, not the business running it.
Ongoing involvement Support, hosting and improvements continue after launch — not just during the build.
Capabilities

What the work covers.

Built across design, development, marketing and business systems — with practical experience rather than theoretical knowledge.

Web Design & Development

Custom websites built without page builders or generic templates. Clean, fast, fully responsive and structured to guide visitors towards action.

Local SEO & Visibility

Google Business Profile optimisation and local search foundations that improve how and where a business appears when customers are actively searching.

Automation & AI Systems

Practical workflow automation using GoHighLevel — enquiry handling, follow-up sequences, lead capture and internal process improvements.

Hosting & Technical Support

Managed hosting, SSL, security and ongoing maintenance. A reliable point of contact for anything that needs attention after launch.

Digital Strategy

Assessing what a business actually needs before recommending a solution. Sometimes that is a website. Sometimes it is a process, a system or a clearer customer journey.

Edge & Cloud Infrastructure

Building on Cloudflare Workers, KV and Pages for fast, scalable products. RaffleCaddie — aggregating live data from six sites, updated every ten minutes — is a working example.

Approach

Practical thinking over impressive-sounding proposals.

Understand the problem first

Before recommending anything, I need to understand where the actual gap is — in visibility, trust, process or conversion.

Build what is needed

No unnecessary complexity. If a straightforward solution addresses the problem, that is the one that gets built.

Clear communication

No jargon, no vague progress updates and no waiting around for replies. You will always know where things stand.

Long-term thinking

The aim is a digital setup that keeps performing — not something that needs rebuilding in two years because corners were cut.
